Brunch So Hard

I’m not afraid to admit I can be basic at times. And that territory comes with loving a good brunch. That said, my budget is less keen on the brunch habit. So this weekend when my friends asked me to go to brunch my heart couldn’t refuse, but my wallet told me it was a no-go. Instead, I chose the happy medium: at-home brunch. I invited all my friends to my house and crafted a menu any true bruncher would be proud of.

The Menu

  • DIY Avocado Toast with peaches and prosciutto
  • DIY Egg Toast with goat cheese and asparagus
  • Chocolate croissants
  • Mimosas

Grocery List

  • Loaf of fancy bread
  • 1 Avocado
  • 1 Peach
  • Prosciutto
  • 6 Eggs
  • Goat Cheese
  • Asparagus
  • Pilsbury croissants
  • Chocolate chips
  • Orange juice
  • Sparkling Wine

Total Cost: $35.00

For three people, our brunch of avocado toast and (nearly) bottomless mimosas it was a steal! Aside from the donuts picked up on the way over, all items were homemade and ended up tasting much fresher (and healthier) than if we’d gone out somewhere. More importantly, it’s not about where you eat your brunch but who you eat your brunch with!

Papa’s Advice: Save yourself some cash and host brunch at your own home. It’s totally doable and allows you to feel fancy while saving some hard-earned money.
